The Central Bar Bombing 50th Anniversary Badge
1975 - 2025
The Central Bar bombing was a bomb attack on a pub in the town of Gilford, near Portadown, carried out by INLA terrorists.
On the 31st December 1975 an INLA unit planted a time bomb in a duffel bag in the Central Bar. The bar was busy due to it being New Year's Eve. The bomb went off at around 21:00.
The explosion killed three civilians:
Richard Beattie (44)
William Scott (28)
Sylvia McCullough (31)
Around 30 people were injured in the bombing and were taken to the Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulances.
This badge has been produced by the Ancre Somme Association Charity in memory of those killed in this cowardly attack.
