Rememberimg the dead is a means of keeping their memory alive but remembering those who have their lives for others is a means by which all of us can recognise and acknowledge the heroic efforts they made on our behalf.
Over an 18 month period members of the Ancre Somme Association researched the records of all those buried in the Shankill Cemetery, Lurgan, who served their country.
While most of this research was carried out locally information was also gathered in France and Belgium.
We would like to thank everyone who helped with this project. In particular we would like to thank Gillian Bleakney, Sharon Woods and William Woods.
We would also like to thank Aaron Dowey for his contribution of self penned poems.
This booklet is now available for a small donation of £2 plus p+p.
